"Outdoor pest repeller, Squirrel - Battery powered...
We had been struggling to get rid of squirrels in our loft for weeks. We had a mains rodent ultrasonic and EM repelling device, but that did not work. The squirrels got used to it and eventually played with it like a toy. So we decided to give the outdoor battery repeller a try.
The device was delivered promptly, and was packaged securely. I really appreciate a company that avoids excess packaging.
I am so impressed with this device. It doesn't look like much when you get it out of the box, was smaller than I had anticipated, but worked like a dream.
It has a dial that is clearly marked for different animals, from wasps to deer and everything in-between. I was sceptical about this also - but it works! I plan on buying a number of these to chase off fouling cats in my veggie patch, and dogs out front who use my drive as a toilet.
This is a motion sensing device so the batteries last quite a long time. I put it in the loft and when the squirrels made one of their frequent daily visits, the device sensed their movement and turned on. Within milliseconds they were running for the outside.
There is one older one that is particularly tenacious, but even she could not stand the ultrasonic wave that hit her every time she tried to move into the loft. It has been a few weeks now and they have tried once or twice to return, but have been repelled each time. I love this product - it means I did not have to get the exterminator in which makes me very happy.
One thing I did notice however is that when you turn the dial up, children can hear it. Mine are between the ages of 6 and 13, and they all squealed when I turned it up, even when they were in other rooms. At its highest it irritated my ears too, but I am very sensitive to sound. In the loft it does not bother them, but it might be something to consider if you use it in the garden with children around. You would definitely have to keep to the lower frequency range for your pest problem. "
