"I have been using it for almost 2 weeks and have yet to catch a rat. I have baited it, tried it in different places, covered it up, tried everything I can think of. The rats just avoid it. It is set in a shed that the rats come out of and they just come past it into the garden."

"Didn't do the job. Rats ran all around it, but seemed too smart to go into it. All kinds of tempting bait was used, but to no avail. Maybe it should have been positioned in a different spot. A couple of different places were used and left for a few days. Finally caught a blackbird (unharmed, but very scared; possibly suffered the trap for a couple of hours), at which point we gave up."

"A well constructed cage but the trap mechanism was so sensitive it was very difficult to set it and the wind would fire it. We manually adjusted it but it was still not very good. We didn't catch the rat.........but got a hedgehog!!"

"It was extremely difficult to set the trap as the horizontal lever arm was not long enough to hold the door up easily and therefore made the hinge where the food panel lever and the back section of the horizontal lever rested against each other extremely sensitive. The least little vibration seem to set the trap off and unfortunately did not do the job. We have persevered for over a week now but to no avail."

"The trap is very sturdy but tricky to set. We haven't caught a rat yet! The door sometimes seem to drop down even though the rat doesn't appear to have been in the trap as the bait is still there. Over the last couple or so days something has been into the trap and removed the bait and removed itself !....even though the door has closed. We shall have to keep trying. The only thing we have caught was a squirrel. Perhaps we just have some very crafty rats."

"The general design is strong and good. Unfortunately on my example the trigger mechanism is so delicate that any 'nudge' of the cage from a rodent trying to get to the food from the outside will set off the trap."

"Well despite knowing there is healthy rat population very close to our house (they're coming under the fence from under next door's decking, I have yet to catch one! So had to rate poor for now as zero success. On the first attempt I used a dollop of pate covered in some tasty mixed seeds which the rats loved, but sadly they got in and out without triggering the trap door. On the second attempt they had to make do with a bit of old cheddar. Nevertheless it got eaten and the trap door was firmly shut when I checked the trap, but the rat had escaped before the door shut. Having read previous reviews of this trap I am now experimenting with the trigger mechanism to ensure it is more easily triggered, but so far I haven't caught anything, Well at least the rats are happy!"

"The cage is too big. And I don't think it can trap the mouse since the distance between each bar is too wide. It would be better if the it's a bit narrower."
