"Der Holzkomposter ist nicht preiswert sondern billig, da er leider wirklich nicht viel wert ist. Das Holz ist sehr dünn, und rottet mit seinem Inhalt um die Wette. Die mitgelieferten Schrauben drehen beim Zusammenbauen sehr schnell durch, da das Holz auch noch sehr weich ist."

"Nous avons été déçu de découvrir la fragilité apparente du produit en rapport au prix. Une des lattes de coin s'est fendillée lors du montage. Un latte latérale est tombée en appuyant à peine avec la paume de la main, là c'est le collage et l'agraphage qui est médiocre. Comme tout semblait correcte au déballage, c'est pourquoi nous n'avons pas introduit de réclamation à la réception. Nous ne l'avons pas encore mis en service, mais nous nous posons la question quant à sa résistance dans le temps et par les intempéries futures."

"Das Produkt weist erhebliche Mängel auf z.b. das Holz ist bereits gesplittert und die einzelnen Latten lösen sich bereits da nicht ordnungsgemäss zusammen gefügt. Darüberhinaus ist die Anleitung nicht ausreichend bzw.teilweise falsch. Das Produkt wurde als ganz einfach im Zusammenbau beschrieben das entspricht in keinster Weise den Tatsachen. "The quality control of this product left a lot to be desired. There were a number of loose slats and pins that were sticking out. Screw pilot holes were missing and the instruction leaflet was very vague over the fitting of the roof. Once I had re-glued and pinned the loose slats and worked out which way round the roof went the overall appearance was pleasing to the eye."

"This was a gift for my son who has quite a small garden, only at the front of his property. It looks attractive, so much better than an ugly, large, plastic compostor, and a much more appropriate size for a small space, and family. It was easily assembled - he added an anchoring stake to prevent easy removal by passers-by, or wind relocation. He and I are very pleased. Thank you for a good product."

"The compst bin looks good and is pretty soild (though how it actually composts is yet to be seen). Only issue was that two of the wooden pieces were split when the box arrived. Glueing them seemed less trouble than returning it, so I fixed them with wood glue and they are holding fine so far."

"Dear Primrose staff I am very pleased with the compost bin. It arrived on a day when the heavens had opened so my husband kindly assembled it in the kitchen. He then decided to give it an extra coat of Cuprinol before it goes outside to brave the elements. He used the clear variety as I wanted to preserve the lovely colour of the wood. I think we shall also fit a door knob at the base to lift the door more easily to get the compost out. (This is perhaps something which could be supplied as part of the kit) So far we are letting the bin air a bit before putting anything in it but I am sure it is going to get a lot of use and looks very attractive. A friend of mine has the same bin (she recommended it to me) and tells me that lawn cuttings do not seem to rot down very well. I think I shall also avoid things that take ages to rot down, e.g. woody stems, egg shells, thick skins, etc. as the bin is quite small and I don't have room in my garden for more than one so need the compost to be usable reasonably soon. So far, I am very happy with it, but if there are any problems I will let you know. Many thanks Mrs Diana Wiser"

"Looks - 100 per cent, it's a very attractive bin, nice wood. Clever design, with hinged and felted lid, easy to put waste into. I haven't had a chance yet to test the clever flap for removing composted material. Because it's small it is quite hard to get a big garden fork in to turn and mix the compost, but I wanted a small bin for my small space, so that's the choice I went with. Assembly was fairly straightforward, in that the instructions were clear, and the pieces were all present and correct. However, on one piece the screw holes were completely incorrectly placed, which made for confusion, initially, and trickier assembly. The reason we didn't build our own bin from scratch is that we don't have the necessary tools or skills, so we weren't able to drill the holes. We had to resort to nails for one of the joins. Hope it holds together."

The only criticism I would have is that two of the panels were slightly split when we got them, and then split further as we put it together, needing wood sealant in the end - which was a shame... "
